Want Your Best Summer Yet?

Start Doing These 3 Things Now!

No matter what you have going on in your life - kids, job, business, study or all the above. We all want to unshackle from the never-ending pressures of our to-do list and bask in long carefree summer days… as quickly as possible.

If you’re anything like my past self, it can take weeks to let go and relax into those feel-good longer days and balmy nights. Weeks that most of us just don’t have.

Here are 3 mindset shifts you can make now so you’ll be in flow and vibe’ing summer before school breaks.

1. Stop “in-boxing” first thing in the morning.

This is not only a productivity tip; it's a way of taking your life back!

Something that gets you out of reactionary mode to what everyone else wants, and allows you to stay focused on what you want. What better way to prepare for the summer you desire!

Not “in-boxing” first thing. This means not checking your email or social networks for at least the first 60 minutes of your day.

Why?

Because when we "inbox" we’re checking out of our world and into someone else’s. Instead, spend your first hour deciding:

  • What are the projects YOU want to work on today?
  • Who do YOU want to reach out to today?
  • What are the priorities that YOU must accomplish today to bring you closer to achieving your dreams?

If you’ve got your heart set on a certain kind of summer this year, then this is your time to plan it out and make it happen.

2. Start saying NO to things that don’t light you up, and begin your day with this “Yes” technique.

This is a simple daily habit to help you raise your set-point and have you vibe-ing summer in no time.

From the moment you wake up in the morning, start saying the word “YES!” and keep repeating the word Yes! and thinking Yes! and feeling Yes! What does "Yes" feel like in your heart, in your hands, in your head, what does it feel like in your gut?

Jump out of bed and continue saying it – YES! to your life, your past and your future. The more you start saying yes to yourself, the higher your vibration will skyrocket.

3) Begin a Notebook of Gorgeous Moments.

Many people say that building a gratitude list is one of the best ways feel good.

While this is true, making a gratitude list can sometimes feel like another to-do list. A list of things I “should be” grateful for, but don't necessarily light up my soul.

I'd like to propose another way.

Something that LIGHTS YOU UP and has you in that happy feeling place of summer.

How it works is easy:

Simply be on the look out for at least one “gorgeous moment” that passes your way each day. Then write it down in a new place that becomes your Notebook of Gorgeous Moments.

Take note:

These moments are not a planned event, or a whole or half-day thing. They’re something that spontaneously stirs your soul and ignites that inner smile.

Some examples of my gorgeous moments are:

1. Watching the way a little girl looks up into her grandfather’s eyes as they share a cup of ice cream together,

2. The smell of the ocean’s salty spray on a warm spring afternoon.

This technique shows us how to uncover those spontaneous divine moments that come to each of us on a daily basis, often without us realising.

Doing so helps build our happiness muscle everyday of the year.

While it might have taken you weeks to feel relaxed and on holiday in the past. These tips will have you already there by the time summer truly rolls round – basking in every moment.

Keep practicing them and people will think you’re just back from holiday all year round.
