Healthy Snack Hacks from Juice Plus+ Headquarters

While owning a Juice Plus+ Virtual Franchise is among the rare career opportunities where you have the freedom to work around your schedule, the vast majority of people find themselves working on someone else’s time.  Healthy snacking doesn’t have to be an afterthought with hectic schedules. We all live busy lives!  It may take a little extra time and effort to prepare, but healthy eating can easily become a part of your daily routine.  For some fresh ideas, I asked some of my fellow co-workers at The Juice Plus+ Company Headquarters to share some of their healthy snack hacks.

For the little ones, most people at Juice Plus+ Home Office said they packed fresh fruits such as bananas, apples, oranges, grapes and strawberries.  Other common answers included:

· Low-fat individual wrapped cheese
· Homemade trail mix
· Grape-Nuts cereal
· Granola bars
· Raisins
· Pickles

For the adults, the most common answers were fresh fruit, Juice Plus+ Complete (which we make into shakes using our convenient Home Office “Complete Machine”) and popcorn.  Some other less common snack hacks included:

· Fresh veggies and hummus
· Homemade kale chips
· Avocados
· Peanut butter (or other nut butters)
· Chia seeds in water
· Nuts and seeds
· Puffed rice snacks
· Dried fruit
· Plantain chips
· Homemade tabbouleh
· Boiled eggs

Of course, many of us enjoy our Complete Bars and shakes, but we wanted to offer a variety of options for those looking for new healthy snacking ideas.  Finding new things you like, having variety and testing what works with your schedule are all important aspects to help guarantee you are more likely to stick with your healthy diet.

Probably the most important piece of advice we can share, and what seems to be the key to healthy snacking, is preparation. What I’ve found works best for me is a special trip to the grocery store during my lunch hour every Monday.  This ensures I don’t run out the door without my healthy snacks and that I have a fresh supply of fruits and veggies on-hand to get me though the workweek.
