Back to School - Healthy Lunch Box Ideas For Kids
Although cooked dinners at school are getting healthier, a packed lunch box gives you more control over what your child is eating. There are so many options that you can pack that are healthy and nutritious.
Here are a few healthy lunch box ideas if you’re stuck and looking for some inspiration:

Homemade Snack Balls
Making your own snacks means that you can control what goes into them and they could work out a lot cheaper. Snack balls, which tend to be a mix of medjool dates, rolled oats, nut butter (optional) and cocoa powder work well. You can get even more inventive with what you add too and change the flavours up. Just whiz the ingredients up in a blender and roll the mixture into balls. They store well in both the fridge and freezer.

Crustless Quiches
These are great because they can be made up in advance and you can use them as a vehicle to get more vegetables into your children. They’re basically just omelettes baked in a muffin tray in the oven. They take little effort and taste so good.

Hummus and Crudités
Vegetables make a great snack - carrots, cucumber, mange tout, and baby corn. They’re full of vitamins and fibre for growing children and are great when dipped in some hummus for a tasty snack.

Dried Fruits
I’m sure kids would love you forever more, if you popped a packet of sweets in their lunch boxes. However, a healthier alternative could be dried fruits like raisins, dates, and cranberries, which are sweet and have a chewy texture like gummy bears.

Pasta Salads
Instead of sandwiches, why not shake things up a bit and try a pasta salad in your little ones lunch box instead. They’re a great way to squeeze more vegetables in and also can be incredibly versatile.
