The Importance of a Bedtime Routine
Modern day life is busy, and many of us opt to wake earlier to squeeze more time to our days. Optimising your morning routine to set yourself up for a successful day is great, however your bedtime routine is just as important but often overlooked.
Here are 3 reasons why having a bedtime routine is important:
1. It helps prime your body for sleep
Many of us have certain routines and rituals that we do in the morning to help anchor our day and ease us in gently. Creating a night time routine will work in a similar way and set of habits that you repeat each night will help to prime your body for sleep. With some repetition you body will instantly know that it’s now time to wind down and will help you drift off.
2. You feel energised the next day
As mentioned above, a bedtime routine helps prime your body for rest, which means you’re going to get the best possible night’s sleep. This means that in the morning your energy levels will be restored, you’ll feel like a million dollars and ready for whatever the world throws at you.
3. Sleep is at the very foundation of health and wellbeing
Often we push ourselves to the limit, burn the candles at both ends and survive on very little sleep. Nevertheless, we all know how great we feel mentally and physically after a decent night’s rest, which is why it’s important to prioritise our sleep, which a bedtime routine can help you achieve.
