7 Summer Smoothie Bowl Ideas


As we enter into the summer months, a deliciously refreshing smoothie bowl is just the ticket for breakfast. And the best part of these beauties, apart from the colour, is you can literally add whatever you want!

So what exactly is a smoothie bowl, I hear you ask?

Well, it is quite simply a delicious fruity smoothie in a bowl, with a combination of toppings.

Be it granola, coconut, raisins, fresh fruit, chia seeds or cinnamon, you can literally make any combination to suit your mood and palette.

You can also add our Complete by Juice Plus+ Vanilla or Chocolate shakes, which are preservative free.

1. Mean and Green

The ultimate green smoothie!

First, use a juicer to juice one green apple.

In a blender or smoothie maker, add:

  • 250ml of milk, or nut milk of your choice
  • Half an avocado
  • Handful of frozen spinach
  • A thumb of ginger
  • 25g of Complete by Juice Plus+ Vanilla Shake powder
  • Squeeze of lemon
  • The green apple juice

Blend together and add to your bowl.

Top with your choice of toppings! Chia seeds, granola and freshly chopped kiwi work wonderfully well.

Tropical Smoothies With Banan, Coconut And Pineapple.


2. Piña Colada

Yum who doesn’t love a little pina colada on a hot summers day? Now bring the piña colada to your breakfast!

Add :

  • Coconut water
  • Pineapple
  • 25g of Complete by Juice Plus+ Vanilla Shake powder
  • Half a carton of coconut cream
  • A squeeze of honey

Then whizz together. Top with some summer toppings, like crunchy granola, coconut pieces and fresh blueberries.

3. Blueberry Muffin

Don’t be confused by the cakey name, this smoothie is merely simulating the amazing blueberry muffin flavour.

Mix together:

  • Frozen blueberries
  • 25g of Complete by Juice Plus+ Vanilla Shake powder
  • Ground almonds
  • Almond milk
  • A large squeeze of agave syrup
  • A dash of cinnamon

Then blend!

Enjoy the gorgeous purple colour and top with items to contrast! Granola, goji berries, flaxseeds and orange slices.

4. Peanut butter and chocolate

As decadent and moreish as it sounds!

Grab your favourite chunky peanut butter and add to your blender, along with:

  • 25g of Complete by Juice Plus+ Chocolate Powder mix
  • 25g of raw cacao powder
  • Hazelnut milk
  • Banana
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • A squeeze of date syrup

Blend and top with chopped banana, granola, chia seeds and strawberries for a pop of colour.

5. Turmeric and banana

Kick-start your day with a punch of turmeric is this vibrant bowl!


  • Almond milk, with turmeric
  • Chopped banana
  • Cinnamon
  • Chia seeds

Add to your bowl and top with granola or coconut pieces, fresh physalis’, blueberries and a drizzle of honey.




6. Mint and chocolate

Is this not the best chocolate combination out there?

Bring your favourite after dinner treat to breakfast, in the form of this delicious smoothie bowl.

Simply blend:

  • Avocado
  • Almond milk
  • Peppermint essence
  • 25g of Complete by Juice Plus+ Chocolate powder
  • 25g of raw cacao powder
  • Some fresh mint leaves

Blend all ingredients together.

Top with crunchy granola, raspberries and chia seeds for a fruity, minty, chocolately treat.

7. Vanilla latte

If you start your day with a coffee, then what’s stopping you incorporating it into your smoothie bowl?

Simply blend:

  • A banana
  • 25g of Complete by Juice Plus+ Vanilla Shake powder
  • Vanilla essence
  • Cashew milk
  • Shot of brewed cold coffee

Add some oats to bulk it up a bit and add to your bowl. Top with whatever your heart desires!
